Continuing to demonstrate the versatility of the patent-pending u-mount clamp, On-Stage Stands introduced theMic Stand Guitar Hanger at the NAMM show last month. Designed with u-mount technology, the GS7800 joins the growing line of u-mount-equipped products, including the DA-26P Percussion Mount, the LS7720QIK Quick-Connect Lighting Stand, the LSA7700P Lighting Stand Arms, and the comprehensive line of Snap-On and folio-style tablet covers with integrated mounting systems. The GS7800 is another first from the company known for MI accessory innovation.
The u-mount elliptical clamp is at the heart of every u-mount product. The GS7800 combines it with a self-adjusting swiveling yoke, turning any standard tripod mic stand into a hanging guitar stand. Easy-on, easy-off, the single knob clamp secures to any shaft up to ¾” in diameter. The swivel yoke accommodates most conventional headstocks, adjusting automatically so instruments hang straight. The yoke is lined with inert velveteen foam, and solid metal construction handles acoustic and electric instruments up to 8lbs. At the other end, an exclusive EVA bumper is included to stabilize and protect the body of the instrument. This bumper fits around the mic stand shaft and can be positioned in the best location for the particular instrument. A zip tie is included with the bumper for semi-permanent installation. A complete kit, allowing an existing tripod mic stand to pull double duty as a guitar stand, the GS7800 gives musicians new options in stage layout and equipment handling.
